Do I need additional downpipes?
We find most properties have insufficient downpipes. This means we will need to install additional downpipes so your roof and gutters function at their best.
What type of downpipes do you install?
90% of the time we install PVC downpipes. We can install metal square downpipes and also metal round downpipes upon request, at an additional cost.
When will I know if I need more downpipes?
It’s hard to confirm prior to installation if you will need additional downpipes unless it’s visibly obvious. When assessing whether to add more downpipes, we check the existing fascias to see if they are level. We then evaluate if the correct fall can be made into your existing downpipes without the guttering coming away from the fascias. After that assessment, we can confirm whether an extra outlet is required.
Can you change the location of my current downpipes to feed into my rainwater tanks?
If we are replacing your guttering, we have an opportunity to feed all the rainwater into your tanks. We can even establish new rainwater connections in your preferred position.
How much is it for downpipes to be replaced?
The price of downpipes really depends on the accessibility for our tradesmen. On average you would need to budget $100 for each downpipe in 90mm PVC supply and installed.
What happens if there’s a bad weather forecast or occurring during your guttering work?
Being roofers for over three generations means that checking the weather forecast has become a ritual. It’s the first thing we do when we get up. And it’s the last thing we do before going to bed.
Unfortunately, due to the very nature of your gutters being a rain harvesting system it becomes impossible for us to complete your gutter installation in the rain as we cannot seal the joints properly, which leads to a sub-standard installation. Therefore, our process is to let you know that our technicians will not be attending the property and we will arrange for them to be there on the following day weather permitting.
